How fast time flies. It wasn’t too long ago
when the idea of Femalebattle.net was given to me as a gift by my
significant other. He believed so much in
me that I could handle the task effectively because he knew how
passionate I am in everything that I do especially if it calls for
service to others. Femalebattle.net
is our baby.
I fell in love with the idea (as i was with the
giver!) as soon as it was presented to me during a casual conversation.
We started visualizing how the pages would look like, what it
should contain and how it should serve as an inspiration and an
avenue for women to share their thoughts, ideas and experiences.
He likewise gifted me with the title of my editorial –
The Endless Grind. He, being an award winning writer, had
a chamber of interesting titles, topics and ideas in his mind
all the time (Femalebattle.net is his too).
Our dates and out of town trips turned into brainstorming
sessions. I prepared the materials and he conceptualized the web
design. It was his forte after all, he is a professional web designer.
We spent days and nights preparing for the maiden issue.
In November, 2003 our web site came to life in cyberspace.
We were overwhelmed with the warm response we got from our site
visitors, initially from friends. Soon after, more and more women
(and men) were sending emails congratulating us for the launch
and the succeeding issues (see Messages).
In March, 2004, Femalebattle.net was featured in
The Sunday Times in commemoration with the celebration of Women’s
Month. A friend I met, volunteered to do a review of the site
(to read full article, click
here).
A year has passed and some sections were added from
time to time, Law Library, Gentle
Despair and Join Us, are introduced
in this anniversary issue. Some minor changes were made while
retaining the design of the site. Changes are inevitable though.
Now, I do the maintenance of the site by myself. My significant
other and I have parted ways but Femalebattle.net - our baby,
lives on.
Some good things never last. But I hope Femalebattle.net
will be here for long, for the service of the new generation of
women. I look forward to serving you for many more years to come...
Many thanks to all contributors, visitors and supporters
of this site. This site is dedicated to all of you. Please join
me in thanking God for the grace and the strength to go on and
on with this service.
Happy 1st Anniversary to all Femalebattlers!
Cheers!
