The battle of every woman is endless. From being a daughter, a sister or a friend to a mother, whether partnered or unpartnered. It is in this light that we open Femalebattle.net as an online resource center for women, to be of help to every woman in her daily battle in life.

The recent Kris Aquino-Joey Marquez controversy brought again into the open the reality of violence against women. A painful reality not all victims are willing to face. A depressing situation that countless women go through but they chose to keep silent for fear of being shunned because they allowed it to happen to themselves. The Kris Aquino case proves that women, regardless of their stature in life can be victims of violence inflicted by abusive partners. The option for battered women are only two (2): stay on in the violent relationship or separate.

I was a victim too of domestic violence. I was once in that miserable situation. I was a victim of verbal abuse, emotional battery and then finally physical abuse. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. At that point, it was never an option to stay on. I had to pick up the pieces of my shattered dreams and broken illusions. And I had to move on with my life for my kids’ sake.

This is only one of the many problems women encounter today. One of the issues which this online resource center wish to tackle. During the time I was desperate for help, I do not know whom to turn to. A few sites in the Internet gave out numbers where battered women can turn to for help. For unexplainable reasons, I wasn’t able to reach most of the contact numbers given. Only the DSWD Legal Assistance was kind enough to give me some information and from there I had to work on my own.

This site aims to give out information and inspiration to all women in all the basic issues they face everyday. I wish to encourage women out there to join us by sharing your own personal experiences and learn from others too.

Welcome to the maiden issue of femalebattle.net.!
